Kickstarter: Poetry books from Obvious State

I’m not a big poetry fan because it’s hard for me to understand but I am a fan of pretty things and I could not resist these books! Obvious State is publishing a series of books where they pair certain poems or text with images and the end result is just gorgeous!

I backed the Kickstarter level for three books and got – We Two Alone, Miles to Go, and To Live Deliberately. The Kickstarter also came with a calendar and it’s gorgeous too! The calendars come with illustrations and a quote – I think I’ll just end up saving them to admire, even after the year has ended.

They’re all so beautiful and I love reading them.

Plus, I actually studied Frost in school so reading them in this new way is extra meaningful to me. The photos cannot capture how precious these books are!

  1. These are beautiful, Eustacia. I like to read poetry–and write it–but sometimes I feel intimidated by it because I feel like some of it goes over my head and like I am missing some deeper meaning. It’s kind of like the classics. Maybe it’s because they are so revered and people put them on a pedestal. It makes them seem unapproachable. But when I’m actually reading the poetry, I love so much about it. From the way the words come together and flow to the emotions they draw out. Some poetry, like novels, don’t work for me, but some I fall into and can’t get enough of. Sorry. LOL. I didn’t meant to go off on a tangent.

    1. Your experience with poetry is really encouraging! I’ve always been a bit intimidated by them (having unseen poetry for O levels probably didn’t help) but these books are a good way of getting me back into the form.

What do you think?
