I mentioned before that I lost this tea. Well, luckily for me, someone at the Dayre Tea Party bought the Sakura Vert Tea and she let me bring some home to try!

So here is an image from Lupicia USA |
According to the Lupicia USA website [1], this tea is described as “Salted cherry leaves are blended into green tea for a fresh clean taste. A hint of salt accentuates the flavor.” So basically it’s pickled sakura leaves [2] mixed in with green tea.
The dry leaves smell like sakura, which is pleasant, and the brewed tea tastes like sakura tea, which is less so. That said, I have to say that I’m not a fan of traditional sakura tea because of the salty-cherry taste. The green tea taste here wasn’t very strong, probably because the taste of the sakura overwhelmed it.
If I had to pick between this and traditional sakura tea [3], I would definitely pick this. But if I had to pick between this and the Sakura and Berry tea, the sakura and berry tea would win hands down. So I’m glad that I ended up losing this tea instead of the sakura and berry one.
The brewing directions for one cup (150ml) of tea are:
Amount: 2.5 to 3 grams
Water: Boiling water (but since this is a green tea I’d actually use a cooler water – about 80 degrees Celsius rather than freshly boiled water )
Brewing time: 2.5 to 3 minutes

[2] So the traditional sakura tea
[3] To be honest the only time I bought sakura tea was to use it to decorate a cheesecake (if you wash the salt off and mix it into gelatin, it makes a pretty topping).
