Chai Dim’s Blue Rabbit in a Hole

As much as I try not to judge books and teas by their cover, I am definitely a sucker for teas with nice packaging. I almost always bought the Lupicia tins because I loved the design, and I definitely decided to try Blue Rabbit in a Hole because of the tin.

According to its description, Blue Rabbit in a Hole is:

A blue rabbit running in a green field made of Lemongrass, Pandan and Butterfly Pea. A surprising herbal tea for all the Chaidim Organic Lemongrass Pandan lover around. Brew it for 5 minutes to enjoy the deep blue tone, add lemon to twist it into a purple rainy day love.

To me, the dry leaves have a strong smell of pandan and lemongrass, which didn’t really smell that good to me. But it tasted surprisingly nice – the pandan goes well with the butterfly tea and the lemongrass complements the mellow flavours of both. The tea was also a pretty blue colour, although I didn’t try adding lemon since previous experience told me that it would just make the tea taste like lemon (as much as I like how the colour changes).

Overall, the strongest taste of this tea is the lemongrass, while the strongest smell was of pandan. That said, I shared this with a friend and she had a slightly different opinion – while she agreed that the tea smelled like pandan when dry, she thought that it smelled strongly of lemongrass when the tea was brewed. However, we both agreed that because none of the three ingredients were overly strong, this made for a nice mellow bedtime tea.

Brewing recommendation
Brew 5g of tea in 300ml of boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes
