March Rereading Madness: Day 12

I’ve just finished a meeting, so you can guess how much reading time I’ve had. In light of that, I decided to reread something short – At The House of the Magician by Mary Hooper. I’ve also just realised that I reread this book last year, and that I still have not read At The Sign of the Sugared Plum. But, I’ve taken concrete steps to remedy this and just borrowed the book on Libby.

Still, even though this is the second time in two years that I read this book, I still really enjoy it! It’s a fun historical YA novel (although everyone drinks beer because that’s the hygienic drink at that time), and I really enjoy Lucy as a main character. She is so devoted to Queen Elizabeth that it’s really cute and I like how there’s just a hint of the supernatural woven into it. Although the hint of magic is so subtle compared to Of Bees and Mist that it isn’t really there at all!

And this isn’t really rereading but I’ve also just started Murder at the Vicarage. I realised that the spring discussion of A Year With Christie 2021 (more details on Selah’s IG highlights) is happening next week and I really want to take part in it! It’s the first Miss Marple series, and as someone who is mostly a fan of Poirot, I’m excited to read it! It’s a new-to-me Christie!

Although I have to admit, I’m tempted to reread some Christie now.
