Can you guess what this bag is?
(If you said “rubbish”, it’s not technically wrong)
So last week, I was a little panicked because I wanted to open some new teas, but I realised that I still had a lot of opened teas. In a perfect world, I would finish one tea before opening another so that the teas can stay as fresh as possible (even with my hoarding habits) but I’m a bit of a tea magpie in that I like opening new teas. So last week, I decided to just focus on teas that were opened and try to finish as many as possible. This is what I managed to achieve:
Loose leaf teas – I had only enough Dong Ding for one session, so as much as it pains me to have finished it, I finished it. I had a bit more of the Georgia black tea so I spent three or four days just drinking this, and another two days drinking the Blue Nettle Oolong tea.
Out of these three teas, the one that I liked the best was the Dong Ding. After that, I think it would be the Georgia black tea, because it’s very easy to just make a pot of black tea while working, without having to worry about properly brewing it.
Matcha – Finished up all my matcha as well! Honestly, the only reason why I didn’t finish my Bird and Blend matcha earlier was that I was lazy. But I made some matcha-flavoured overnight oats, had some other flavours as a regular matcha bowl, and finished all the matcha remaining!
Anyway, this is a pretty short post but I’m proud of how much tea I managed to finish in one week! I generally don’t track my empties so it’s pretty fun to see my tea intake for a week.
I’m the same when it comes to finishing something! I like the completionism and I like not having too much open at once, but at the same time I don’t want to use up those last bits!
I hate having to use up the last bits of a tea I loved, but then I have to remind myself that tea will go stale so keeping it will not ensure the same quality as when I fell in love with it.
Exactly! It makes sense to use it up, but that doesn’t make it any easier haha
