Last week, I talked about what I did not manage to do on my free day. What I didn’t mention was something that I did get to do, which is to buy a new box of tisanes.
I was walking through Cours Saleya from the post office (errand 1) to the ravioli shop (errand 2), when I came across a stall selling various tisanes that, if I didn’t understand the shop owners wrongly, were grown in France. They had a few types of tisanes and this one caught my eye because it’s:
- 30% menthe bio (organic mint),
- 30% citronnelle bio (organic lemongrass),
- 20% tilleul bio (organic lime tree), and
- 20% verveine bio (organic verbena).
I don’t think I’ve a tried lime tree tisane before, but I’ve tried the other three ingredients and like them so I thought this would be fun to drink!
As expected, this tisane has smells of lemongrass and has a sweet taste. For me, the dominant notes are verbena and lemongrass. The mint isn’t as obvious but it seems to make the tea lighter.
By the way, the ravioli was delicious! It’s from a shop called Barale Raviolis and it was my first time trying fresh ravioli! I basically told the staff that I just wanted to buy enough for une personne and they gave me about 3 servings (since they sell in servings of 12 pieces). I got the Niçois Daube and the ravioli really tasted like a stew! It was amazing with some tomato sauce and all I had to do was to boil it for four minutes. If you’re in Nice, I would definitely recommend visiting Barale’s.
(This post started with a tisane and ended with ravioli so I’m not sure what’s the point I was trying to make)
Both the tisane and the ravioli sound great — not sure there’s any other point that needed to be made here? 😀
Haha I feel like I started the post with a point (maybe about teas at Cours Saleya? haha) but lost it with the ravioli :p
The point was that you tried new food and drink!!
Yes! That’s it! hahaha
