Quick Tea Reviews: 2 Numi Teas (Aged Earl Grey and Jasmine Green)

Hello tea friends!! I’m finally at a stage where I can slowly open up new packets of tea to enjoy! These two teas were actually teas that I bought during my trip to San Francisco (I’ve got more that need to be reviewed too!).

A close up shot seemed like a good idea at the time… but I have no idea why I tilted the photo :p

Aged Earl Grey Tea

I actually found Numi Tea after I had their white tea with rose and really enjoyed it! So I went to a supermarket to find that blend and… it wasn’t there! Although I’m not a fan of Earl Grey, the “aged” part in the name caught my attention and I decided to get it.

Although I’m normally not a fan of earl grey, I found this to be pretty pleasant tea! The bergamot note is distinct but not overpowering and blends in very nicely with the black tea. Most importantly, the bergamot doesn’t taste artificial, so I can actually drink more than one cup at a go.

Jasmine Green

I generally like jasmine tea so after tasting the aged earl grey, I had really high hopes for this. The first thing I noticed when making this tea was the soft, natural scent of jasmine – again, this feels very natural. The jasmine note is pretty lasting and again, this is another pleasant cup of tea. That said, decent jasmine tea is pretty easy to find, so while this was pleasant, it didn’t exactly stand out.

Overall thoughts

I’m pretty happy with these two teas that I got from Numi! For me, the tea that really stood out is the Earl Grey, because I’m typically quite picky about it/won’t drink it if I can help it. I’m also pretty intrigued by Numi’s B-Corp status, because I have learnt about it during my MBA, so I shall be doing a bit more reading up about it and hopefully sharing what I’ve learnt in a future blogpost!
