As planned, I finished Sense & Sensibility today and since I didn’t have time to write my originally planned post, it’s time for my update!
After finishing the novel this time, I have decided that my current favourite character is Mrs Jennings. While the girls tend to think of her as being rather silly at times, I think she’s a very warm-hearted woman who hosted them to the best of her abilities and did all she could for them. Plus she had to put up with Marianne’s temper and the fact that Elinor isn’t a naturally charming person. Also, she says this:
“I have no notion of people’s making such a to-do about money and greatness.”
Honestly such a great quote. I’m quite happy for Elinor and Marianne, that by the end of the novel, they have found a community of people who love them for who they are (apart from their romantic interests) and they have managed to curb both their excesses.
Also, I don’t know why but Willoughby reminded me of Henry from Mansfield Park, which makes me want to reread that novel again.
This was a fun reread of the novel and I definitely have to remember
