Quick Lupicia Tea Reviews #7

I can’t believe we’re on the seventh post about Lupicia’s teas. And I just received even more (but probably the final lot of teas) so the end is far but finally in sight. I tried to take a few more photos this time, so here are my thoughts + what I saw at one point while having tea.

Bouquet Royal Jasmine: This was a green tea with muscat. As expected, it smells very strongly of muscat and I got a hint of jasmine as well (no surprise as I could see the jasmine buds in the tea). At a low temperature, this tea was quite sweet with a nice balance of floral and grape, though the grape is the easiest to recognise. I could taste the sencha notes in the tea as well.

Train rougue: I actually didn’t write much for this, only that it smelled and tasted very sweet, a bit like candy.

Iyo no Kaori

Iyo no Kaori: This was a black tea with orange peel and marigold. It had a very fruity taste and I could definitely taste the mandarin peel. That said, I wouldn’t say this is a citrus tea, it’s a bit too sweet for that and reminds me more of orange candy. Since the tea is CTC tea, it infuses very quickly so you wouldn’t want to leave this unattended.

Rosso Amore: Though this was a cherry black tea, the brewed tea reminded me of coffee when I first made it. I wonder if it’s also because it’s CTC and thus a lot stronger than what I like. The cherry note was noticeable but not as strong as I had expected. It’s good if you need a very strong cup of tea ASAP but it’s not really for me.

Poetry of Iyo: Another tea from Iyo, but although the Iyo no Kaori used black tea, this one used sencha. It’s basically a sencha with jasmine and I thought it tasted and smelled more like a jasmine tea than sencha. That’s probably a good thing, because I thought some of the sencha notes might clash with the jasmine. I quite liked this one – it’s a nice floral tea! The only “weird” thing was that unlike with the Royal Bouquet Jasmine, I didn’t see any jasmine in this tea!
