Osmanthus Oolong by Made Tea For U (得心得茶)

Today’s tea is one that I received from a friend after her trip to China (I am so lucky to have lots of tea loving friends). This is an osmanthus oolong from Made Tea for U (得心得茶).

To be honest, I haven’t heard of this brand before but their tea tin is just gorgeous! I really love the watercolour feel. Surprisingly, the tea here comes in tea bags rather than loose leaves. There were about eight tea bags in this tin.

The taste and smell of the osmanthus in this tea was much stronger than the oolong. That said, it wasn’t domineering (it didn’t taste like an osmanthus-only tea, unlike an osmanthus green tea I once had was like). Instead, this is a light, floral tea with an osmanthus taste that lingers pleasantly in the mouth.

This might be a good introduction to oolong or a good tea for people who aren’t big fans of it. I asked my interns to try the tea and even though they don’t normally drink (or like) oolong, both of them were pleasantly surprised by the taste and ended up liking it quite a bit.

Recommended Brewing Instructions
Hot: Brew for 1 minute using 250ml of freshly boiled water.
Cold: Cold-brew in the fridge for 1 to 3 hours using 300ml of cold water.
