NaNoWriMo Week 4: Almost There

Last week of NaNoWriMo and I’m so happy to still be on track! I broke the 40k mark today so if I can stick to the same pace that I’ve been doing, I can definitely hit 50k words by Saturday.

I’ve also put up a little bit of what I’ve written on Wattpad – it’s the start of a short story from a side character in Mi and You. You can read it here and if you have any thoughts, I’d love to know what you think.

Moving forward, there are only two things that might affect my word count:

  1. I have a baking class on Thursday. It was a bit of a last-minute thing, but I’ve been wanting to learn how to make panettone for ages and I decided to finally take the plunge and do it.
  2. I have a family wedding on Friday so that means the entire evening is out.

On the bright side, my long-awaited second write-in is on Saturday so if I’m about a day behind, I can probably still catch up (but not more than that). Sadly, we didn’t get as many people to sign up as before – I don’t know if that means more people have dropped out or if they just didn’t enjoy the first one. I had a lot of fun and managed a lot of words, for what it’s worth.

All the best to everyone else doing NaNoWriMo! I hope your last week is a productive one!

  1. You always astound me with your fertile imagination! Just one question: in the second paragraph there is a sentence that reads “The silly girl didn’t even seem to notice and told me to “Line” her whenever.” Did you mean to use the word “Line?” What does that mean?

    1. Oops, I forgot Line isn’t used worldwide! It’s a very popular messaging app in Japan (something like Telegram, Whatsapp, Wechat, etc) and pretty much everybody uses it. I’ll have to remember to add in an explanation in an authors note or something :p (Or maybe try to work in that it’s an app).

      Thank you for reading!

What do you think?
