Hi friends!
I wasn’t really planning to buy any fukubukuro (lucky bags) this year because I’m not living in Japan anymore, but I was talking to my friends about Karel Capek at the end of last year and one thing led to another and we ended up getting one of the fukubukuro to share! (I also bought some other cool tea but that’s a story for another post)
Since it’s been ages since I bought any fukubukuro, I thought it would be fun to just share what’s inside. Karel Capek has several types of fukubukuro, but the one we got was the 6000 yen set.
The contents of the fukubukuro are:
- 1 box of Earl Grey tea
- 1 box of Nuwara Eliya tea
- 1 packet of Ruhuna tea
- 1 packet of Dimbula tea
- 1 packet of Rooibos muscat
- 1 packet of Fruity party
- 20 individual teabags of various flavours (we saw about 5 flavours, including their Halloween tea)
- 1 tote bag
- 1 calendar
- 1 cup
- 1 small pouch (the teabags are in the pouch)
- 1 thank you postcard
As you can see, the teas in this fukubukuro lean towards unflavored Ceylon black tea, with half of the tea packets/boxes being Ceylon black tea! It is quite a lot of tea but we did manage to split it among the three of us, so my tea stash hasn’t increased by too much. I’m thinking of using these teas as school teas – I’ve started putting in a teabag or some loose leaf into my bottle before going to school and I’m really enjoying it so far!
It’s so lovely to take a tea with you when you’re going to work/school!
Yes, I agree! And their blends are always so nice!
