Christmas Tea Review: Karel Capek’s Merry Christmas and Holly Greeting Tea

We’re approaching Christmas and… I don’t feel prepared! Mostly because I left my advent calendar somewhere I can’t reach it AND I didn’t bring the two books I borrowed for Christmas along (basically winter murder books). But oh wells, it’s not in the Christmas spirit to be a grinch so let me share with you these really cute teas that reached me just in time for the holiday season!

My friend and I bought Karel Capek’s festive teas early in November but it only reached us mid December due to all the shipping issues. Although I really should not have, I was just too enticed by how cute these were.

Merry Christmas Tea

The Merry Christmas Tea is a blend of vanilla and strawberry. For some reason, the tea reminded me of those chocolate-flavoured teas; perhaps it’s the sweetness from the vanilla? I did get the fruity note underneath and I thought it went well with the general sweetness of the tea!

Holly Greeting Tea

The Holly Greeting Tea is basically pear-flavoured and it tastes as such. The black tea is from Nuwara Eliya, which is one of Sri Lanka’s most elevated tea regions, and so it’s a pity that I can’t seem to taste the tea. I really just get pears from this, which is refreshing but I do want a bit more out of it.

Overall, though these are two really fun teas. I haven’t been drinking much (artificially) flavoured teas recently so this makes for a nice little break.

What do you think?
