Twinning’s Cold Infuse – Watermelon, Strawberry, and Mint

Since I work at a tea-related company, we hear a lot about tea. And one of the teas we heard about was the new Twinning’s Cold Infuse. It intrigued me so much that when one of my friends headed to the UK, I asked her to buy me a box back to try.

By the way, this was apparently quite hard to find. She went to a few supermarkets and couldn’t find it. Eventually, she just ordered from the Twinning’s website and had it delivered to a friend’s place. So if you’re visiting the UK and want to get this too, be prepared to have to search around.

The whole idea behind these tisanes is that you just drop them in your water bottle, wait five minutes, and then give it a shake before drinking. So I decided to do just that – with cold water.

I was actually surprised at how fast it took to infuse one (admittedly small) bottle. Taste-wise, it was refreshing – something like a mashup of the Willy Wonka watermelon-flavoured nerds and mint. I actually really liked it.

That said, it’s obvious that a good amount flavourings were used to make it possible for such a quick cold brew. If the quick brewing time didn’t tip you off, the ingredient list would. And while it’s tasty, you can definitely taste the difference between this and a cold-brew made with more natural ingredients.

I’m definitely not saying you shouldn’t buy this. I tried this with a bunch of my friends and they absolutely loved it. In fact, I would like to try the other flavours – Rose Lemonade sounds really good. But, just be aware that this isn’t one of those all-natural tisanes.
