I read The City of Dreaming Books in 2018 and have been wanting to reread my copy of The 13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear ever since then! But it’s a fairly long book and I always had new books to read from the library so I never got around to it, until this month when I decided that I cannot keep procrastinating – two years is long enough!
I managed to finish the first nine lives of Captain Bluebear, which puts me exactly at the midpoint of the book. It’s also how I remembered this story – the first few lives are fairly short and you breeze past them, but the last couple are substantial. I’m not sure if I’m looking forward to that, to be honest. But I’ve been enjoying the story so all I need to do is continue reading! I’m really enjoying the illustrations here as well.
There’s not much else to update today – I spent a lot of time worrying that I missed some work from the weekend but I think I’ve caught everything. Has anyone read the other books in the Zamonia series? Should I be looking out for the other two – ‘A Wild Ride through the Night’ and ‘Rumo’?
