SustainabiliTEA: B-Corp Certified Tea Companies

This is a little late but it’s the follow-up to my post on B-Corp certification. Previously, I wrote about how B-Corp Certification could be a useful way to find ethical/sustainable tea companies, with the caveat a lack of certification doesn’t mean a company is being unsustainable or unethical. It just means we have to dig deeper.

Today, I’ve gathered the names of some B-corp certified tea companies, partly in case anyone is interested and partly for me to have an easily accessible list of companies just in case. I’ll also be linking to their B Corp page in case you want to have a closer look at what they’re doing.

As you can see, we have some rather large brands that are certified B Corp companies! I know T2 and English Tea Shop are available in Singapore, and I’ve seen Clipper in France and Malaysia. I’m also quite happy that there’s a range of teas, from straight teas to flavoured teas; this means it’s easier to find a tea you like that’s also good for the people growing it and the planet.

I hope you recognise a few names on this short list! I hope that the next time you’re reaching for a tea, you’ll be able to more easily find one that’s sustainable and ethical, whether it’s B Corp certified or not!

P.s. I’m not sure if anyone remembers my tea steamer, but I dusted it off and made myself a pot of sencha this morning! I probably should have reread my old post first – the tea was pretty yellow (instead of green) and though it tasted nice, it wasn’t the same as sencha brewed the traditional way.
