Hello! This is Day 2 of my rereading week and I’ve been rereading a bit less than expected (oops).
Today, I managed to finish Pyramids by Terry Pratchett! I learnt yesterday that there’s a Dr Who reference in the book but I completely did not manage to catch it. However, I still found it fun and I quite adore the Sphinx scene and how Teppic deconstructs the question.
I also started An English Murder by Cyril Hare, which is something that I’ve been meaning to reread for a while. I’m only 3 chapters in so far but I’m enjoying the wry humour that pops up now and then. There is one very disagreeable character so far – Robert, the heir to Warbeck Hall who is antisemitic (apart from being a facist). I can’t remember what happens so I’m looking forward to continuing the book! I hope I can finish this by Thursday or so.
By the way, I bought this book in late 2017 and it’s already fairly yellowed. But now that I’ve written it out, I suppose 5 years s quite a long time! I don’t know why I thought I bought this in the last couple of years/fairly recently.
In non-book news, I finally opened my tea bomb today! It looks really pretty but I think the Singapore heat has done a number on it because the heart was extremely dented. Basically, there’s a teabag (confusingly complete with the paper tag) inside the heart. As someone who usually drinks tea straight, I found this to be quite sweet. It tastes like lemonade that isn’t sour.
Overall: something I wanted to try but which I probably won’t be trying again.
So…do you put the entire heart in water? And, if so, why is the paper tag inside? I’m confused!
Yes! You’re supposed to pour boiling water over the heart to melt the exterior and steep the teabag. The presence of the paper tag is a mystery because there’s no way I can use it! Even if I fish it out ASAP it’s gonna be wet and soggy…
That is *such* a different idea for the tea!
It’s definitely very unique haha
