The Update I’ve Been Meaning to Write

Hello internet friends! I’ve been meaning to write this for a while but life has gotten really busy and I’m only now just starting. You guys have been so supportive ever since I mentioned that I was going to be taking a break from blogging and well… I think we all know that I never really went back to a regular schedule after that.

A while back, I read a book that helped me understand why blogging has fallen to the wayside. It’s called The Renaissance Soul and while the word “Renaissance” is probably applied wrongly, I liked the concept it had about making sure you only had four major things on your plate at one time. For the last year, I’ve had many things on my plate – work has been very busy with a long term implementation project, for the first half of this year, I’ve been planning my wedding (and then buying furniture for our home), and so on. Actually between work and personal things, my plate has been pretty much full, unlike the COVID-19 period where I had so much time I actually started a bookstagram account.

For the last month or so, I’ve been trying to do once to twice weekly updates – book reviews or tea, and it’s been pretty hit and miss. I’m here to tell you that… it will probably remain that way for a while. I don’t see myself developing more mental energy for the rest of the year, though I do have a few things I want to write and maybe post here, such as:

  1. A post comparing Zheng Yi Sao to Mulan
  2. Crazy Rich Asians book list – and I mean real life crazy rich asians of the 19th century
  3. Our honeymoon resort review (though first, we have to go on our honeymoon)
  4. More about how my tea drinking has changed now

And of course, the odd book review here and there.

That’s about it for now! Every so often, I feel like coming here and just updating you guys on what is going on, and this is definitely one of those times. Also, my blog hosting renewal is coming up and so I will probably be popping up here and there for another three years!

  1. I always enjoy your updates, even if I don’t regularly say so online. Enjoy your honeymoon and I look forward to hearing about it! I recently returned from a visit to Alaska to visit family (photos on Facebook) and I am still trying to acclimate to west coast time. I am hoping to make another trip to Hawaii before the end of the year. It remains my favorite place!

  2. I’m happy for you. You clearly have some fun things to look forward to, though it does seem like you have a lot on your plate. Still, I like that you’re prioritizing your personal happiness, because that’s what’s most important. Enjoy your honeymoon, Eustacia!

What do you think?
