Advent has started, which means that I’m going to go all-out when it comes to tea! Not that I’ve been holding back, but it’s nice to have a reason to go a little over the top. So this week, I’ll be going through the Bird & Blend Matcha Advent + sharing the one tea that I’ve managed to finish just before the season started.
Bird & Blend Matcha Advent Calendar Contents
This year, I decided to try the Bird & Blend Matcha Advent Calendar! I’ve heard lots of good things about it, so I am super excited to try it. Since there are only 12 days, I am going to wait until December 1 to start this. But in the meantime, here are the flavours in the calendar:
- Gingerbread Chai Matcha
- Mince Pie Matcha
- Peaches and Cream Matcha (I remember really loving this!)
- Maca Mocka
- Salted Caramel Matcha
- Mint Humbug Matcha
- Pina Colada
- Coco Matcha
- Toffee Apple Matcha
- Mulled Wine Powder
- Ice Cream Matcha
- Nordic Berry Matcha (another one I remember really enjoying!)
2020 Sipdown Part 1
The one and only tea I finished was the Huntington Hand Rolled Black Tea by Rare Tea Company. It was a bit of a surprise to finish this tea because I thought I had more! This was sweet and malty with a spicy note, a really delicious black tea.
Would I rebuy it? I’m torn! The tea is really pricey but it does work really well plain and with milk, and teas like that are always needed by my family. (Full review)
Next week: updates on the matcha advent calendar and we’ll see if I have managed to finish any more teas.
Salted caramel matcha?! I’ve never had matcha but gimme gimme!!
I’m excited for that one! Bird & Blend has stores in the UK so I think you can just buy the small tins there!
Ooooh omg dude no don’t add to my wishlist hahahaha
Hahahaha maybe for next year!
Pina Colada matcha?? Hmmm 🤩
I have a feeling I will either love it or hate it – don’t think I can be neutral about it!
I think it would be the same with Mince Pie Matcha. But sounds intriguing. 😂
Nordic Berry..? **raises eyebrow, quizzically** 😛
I’m not too sure what makes it Nordic, but it’s basically a berry flavoured matcha :p
Hehe..it’s just that the name reminded me of those air fresheners labelled “Scandinavian Pine Forest”, which they, ermm, aren’t… 😀
I love the Ice Cream Matcha! I wasn’t sure of it at first, but it’s one of the few matchas I would consider buying a bigger tin of.
Oooh, yes that is a nice one, especially as a latte!
